Archie Snow, Sr

Archie Snow, Sr., 88, of Elgin, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia. His daughter, Erica, was by his side as he took his final breath. Archie was born on March 15, 1937, in Weirsdale, Florida, to Willis and Sallie Mae Snow., Sr. He graduated from Belleview-Santos High School in 1957.He enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, proudly serving for 4 years and then transition to the U.S. Air Force reserves. His years of service took him across the United States and throughout Europe, experiences that shaped his love of travel, resilience, and discipline. After the military Archie met and married Evelyn Menchan Snow(deceased)  in Ocala Florida and they had three beautiful children. Later he met and married Sonia McMahon Snow and moved to Elgin, South Carolina, where they raised for beautiful 4 children and built a life marked by service, love, and faith. Archie had a deep passion for camping and traveling, often loading his children into the car to explore the country together, stopping at KOA campgrounds along the way. He loved making memories and taking photos. He made every effort to attend weddings, graduations, and sporting events for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a testament to the devotion he carried for his family. Archie loved the Lord and was a man of strong faith. He liked gospel and Motown music, southern food, and dark chocolate. Evenings often found him reading the newspaper, spinning his favorite records, chatting on the phone, or watching the nightly news. He led a quiet, content life. Archie is survived by his beloved children: Debra Snow Scott (Mikeyt), Brenda Snow Jacobs ( Dexter Webb), Alvin Johnson, Pamela Snow-Butler, Jennifer Snow Reid (Ahmed), Archie Snow Jr., Erica Nicole Simpson, Arnette Snow (Jacquelyn), and Kira Fauver (Jeffery). He has one living brother Willis Snow, Jr. whom  resides in Weirsdale Florida. He was blessed with 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, whom he cherished endlessly. He will be remembered for his generosity, his love of family, his faith and his steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
