Cora L Denson

She was born on June 21, 1940, to Theola Leitner and birth mom, Maggie Kelly. She earned an Associate of Arts degree and lived a life devoted to family and love. She passed away on December 17, 2025.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lavern Maxey; Beverly Maxey Wondenga (Ibrahim); Christopher Maxey (Arika); Sherryl Johnson Tandy (Erik); and Rita Johnson Early (Bruce); her special friend, Devetta Maynard; her bonus son, Melvin Mosley; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Franklin Maxey, Jr.; her mother; and her siblings, Constance Summers, Gloria Johnson, Johnny Kelly, Oscar Davis, and Oscar Johnson.
