Debra Joyce Norris-Franklin

A Time to be Born Debra Joyce Norris-Franklin was born on January 15, 1952, to Albert Norris, Sr., and Florence Dixon-Norris in Ocala, Florida. A Time to Live Debra was educated in the public schools of Marion County, and she graduated from the last segregated class of Howard High School (Wild Bulls) in 1969. She was baptized at an early age at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She married Nathaniel Bonzell Franklin, Sr. She had two children, Darrell Franklin, Sr., and Demetrius Franklin, Sr. She worked as an instructional trainer at Lockheed Martin, and she retired after 30 plus years of dedicated service. A Time to Die God called Debra home to her final resting place at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026; and as she enters glory, her souls says, “Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit in me.” -Psalm 51:9-10 A Time to Mourn Left to cherish her memory and mourn her passing is her son, Demetrius Franklin, Sr. (Eunice Franklin); siblings, Rosa Lee Brown (Daniel Brown, Sr., deceased), Albert Norris, Jr. (Vickie Norris), Reuben Norris (Sophia Norris), and Wayne H. Norris; god-given sisters, Vera Bryant, Jenoris Beasley, Grace Huffman, and Katherine Bracey; grandchildren, De’Keria Franklin, Darrell Franklin, Jr., Di’Sheria Franklin-Hampton (Christopher Hampton Sr.), Raven Myhand, Deviontae Wess, Kenneth Franklin, Demetrius Franklin, Jr., Dr. Elizabeth Franklin, and Ma'Liyah Franklin; god-daughters, Nicole Clark, Mesha Clark, Ramona Williamson (William Williamason), Tracy Evans, and Joya Washington (Darvel Washington, Sr.); and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and sorrowing family and friends.
