Lets remember and honor Eula’s 91 years of life.
Born December 15, 1934 in Lineville, Alabama to “Tump” McClain and Mary Ruff McClain. She was the youngest of 18 children. Eula attended school in Lineville, Alabama and gained valuable life long skills while growing up.
In God’s perfect timing she met Milton Heflin. A World War II Veteran. In two weeks time they decided to embark on a life-long journey of marriage. For over 50 years they honored that partnership. Starting from very humble beginnings, they worked together to establish a home in Belleview, Florida. They created a safe place to raise eight children. The couple was hardworking. They took pride in a honest days work for a honest days pay but always went above and beyond in their ability to improvise and sacrifice. Praise was constantly given to God for keeping them and providing for them. Their union set the tone for the family.
God gave Eula many gifts and talents. She will be remember by her children as a fiercely dedicated mother, who was kind, caring, giving and always putting others needs first. They appreciate her for encouraging them to accomplish great things. Eula was a wonderful homemaker and still worked outside of the home. Although not formally trained, she was an interior decorator, a seamstress, a party planner and hostess, a top chef in the kitchen, a butcher, a gardener, a beautician, a property investor, a stylist and an all around one of a kind woman! How she confronted and dealt with storms of life was a great encouragement and an unsuspected example of faith for others. You never had to ask – she was already praying for you.
God continued to bless Eula with 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her grandchildren will cherish every memory from that same Belleview home she raised her children in. Every birthday, holiday and summer gave them time to learn who they were, where they came from and gain life lessons that help mold who they are today.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband and the following children: Sandra Heflin, Loretta Heflin Brown, Joyce Heflin High, Ralph Heflin Sr.
She transitioned peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, April 7th as a faithful servant in the body of Christ.
Her legacy continues with the following children: Royzell Heflin [Reddick], Janice Heflin [Belleview], JoAnne Heflin Gillis [Daytona - Ronald], Milton Heflin Jr [Daytona], Veronica Brown [Virgina - Eric]. All thirteen grandchildren, all twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. She also leaves behind three sister in laws and one brother in law along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
It is truly a blessing to leave such a legacy.
