Evangelist Dorothy Daniels, born May 18, 1953, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 72. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Earl L. Filmore Jr. (Khalilah), Capt. Travis Filmore
(Sabrina), and Galen Filmore. Dorothy also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brianna Filmore, TeAndre Roberts, and Isaiah Filmore; and one adored great-granddaughter, Jennifer Lapalme-Van Over.
She is survived by her siblings: Marcella Daniels (Ocala, FL), Jervey Daniels (Orangeburg, SC), and Marzetta Daniels (Ocala, FL). She was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Daniels. She also leaves behind her special sister-in-law, Ethel Daniels, and her best friend of many years, Osbourne Brooks, both of whom stood faithfully by her side throughout life’s seasons. Dorothy was a woman of deep faith and quiet strength. Known for her wisdom, warmth, and no-nonsense spirit, she was a source of guidance and unconditional love to her family, friends, and church community. A proud graduate of Liberty Bible College and Seminary, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and served faithfully as the Mother of Emmanuel Christian Life Center in Ocala, Florida. She also served as a Minister at Emmanuel, working under the tutelage of Pastor Julius Beard and his wife, First Lady Janica Beard, who both served as spiritual mentors and pillars of support throughout her journey. A dedicated Florida State Seminoles fan, she brought the same loyalty and heart to her team that she showed to those around her. She was immensely proud of her sons, all of whom served in the United States military. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, steadfast love, and powerful presence that made every space she entered better.
