Gloria Rhunette Boger was born on December 30, 1943, to the late Willie Garner (Trustee) and Odessa Hastings Garner. She was the eldest of three siblings: Sharon Parris (preceded her in death) and Mary Ellen Garner of Weirsdale, Florida. Gloria was united in holy matrimony to Jimmy L. Boger, Sr., and they shared 61 years of loving marriage. From this union, three children were born—two sons (Jimmy, Jr and Michael) preceded her in death, and one daughter (Damita). And five grandsons – 2 preceding her in death – Michael Jr, Justin Goods.
At an early age, Gloria accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained faithful throughout her life. She was a devoted member, usher, and mother of Stanton First Baptist Church in Weirsdale, Florida.
Gloria was a cherished member of the Marion County community and a proud retired employee of the Marion County School Board, where she dedicated more than 30 years of service to students, families, and colleagues.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jimmy L. Boger, Sr. of Weirsdale; her daughter, Damita (Michael) Goods of Williamsburg, Virginia; her stepdaughter, Tenille Bonner of Jacksonville; her sister, Mary Ellen Garner of Weirsdale; three grandsons—Kevin (Gabby) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Cristofer of Roanoke, Virginia, and Justin of Jacksonville, Florida; two devoted former sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Jefferson of Belleview and Altamase of Weirsdale; and sister in law Queen James of Wilmington, NC and a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving spirit, and selfless service. Though she has entered eternal rest, her legacy of love will live on forever.
