Herman Epps

June 13, 1943 ~ October 10, 2024 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Herman Epps Obituary

Herman Epps was born to the late Sheffield and Lovie Mae Epps in
Ocala, Florida on June 13th, 1943. He graduated from Howard High
School prior to starting to work within his community, including more
than 20 years with Sprint Phone Company, in which he retired from. This
is not to mention all the time, energy, and resources he put into
improving the lives of the people around him.
To know Herman was to be impacted by him. He was a regular donor to
the American Red Cross in Marion County, FL for 18 years and enjoyed
helping many using his upholstery and auto mechanics expertise.
Memories also embrace Herman as an avid cake maker and amateur
photographer.
He was a faithful and dedicated church member of the Shiloh Seventh
Day Adventist Church for 40+ years. Herman was a deacon for several
years before becoming an Elder of the church. He served in the prayer
ministry, jail ministry, and as treasurer before retiring his positions.
Herman was always known, whether to friends, church, or family, for his
devotion to our Lord and Savior as well as his love for others.
Herman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Rosa
Lean Epps; his parents, Sheffield and Lovie Epps; and his younger
siblings, Patricia Epps and Freddie Epps. Herman is survived by his
children: Rodney Epps Sr. (Ann), Wanda Epps-Gipson (Elander), and
Tony Sheffield Epps; His siblings: Estella Acree (Johnny), Diana Spears
(Clint), Leroy Epps, Mellisa Johnson (Kroells), Pam Bracey, Deborah
Edwards, and Derek Epps. Grandchildren: Rodney Epps Jr., Daiyaan El
Epps (Eboni), Shaakira Epps, Kamaria Epps-Strickland, Alexander
Gipson, and Melanie Gipson; Great-grandchildren: Rodney Epps III,
Raylen Epps, Samaria Epps, Olive Strickland and Zosar Strickland; and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
