Horace (Bugman) McNealy Obituary

Horace "Bugman" McNealy was born on June 30, 1930, to the late Alaphair Dobson McNealy and Sam McNealy. He was one of thirteen children and, from an early age, embraced the role of mentor, protector, and guiding influence to his many siblings.

Bugman proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces as a member of the medical personnel team. His duties included transporting wounded service members to military hospitals and bases, providing care and support to those who had sacrificed for their nation. His military service afforded him the opportunity to travel to several countries and experience the world beyond his hometown.

Following his honorable discharge from the military, Bugman became certified in pesticide application and built a reputation as a hardworking and resourceful man. Known as a "jack of all trades," he possessed an exceptional ability to teach himself virtually any skill. Whether building houses, welding, constructing barbecue grills, repairing equipment, or fixing anything that needed attention, Bugman approached every task with determination, ingenuity, and pride. He was also a co-owner of a barbecue restaurant with his brother and sister, where he shared his passion for cooking and developed his own signature barbecue sauce.

More importantly, he was a devoted family man and loyal friend whose life touched many people. He generously shared his knowledge, wisdom, and talents with those around him. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to his family and community.

Having laid his burdens at the feet of the Lord, Bugman peacefully entered eternal rest at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of service, hard work, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
