Jacquelyn Yvonne Shuler, 85, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on January 28, 1941, Jacquelyn lived a life dedicated to education, community, and faith. A proud graduate of Howard High School’s Class of 1959, Jacquelyn pursued higher education with distinction, earning an Associate of Arts degree from Hampton Junior College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University. She furthered her studies by obtaining a Master of Science in Library Science from both Florida A&M University and Atlanta University. Her passion for learning and teaching led her to serve as a librarian and English teacher at J.R.E. Lee High School in Wildwood, Florida. She also made history as the first librarian and art instructor at Kittrell College, Kittrell, North Carolina and Booker T. Washington High School in Inverness, Florida. Jacquelyn was a devoted member of Fountain Chapel A.M.E. Church in Tallahassee and an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She found joy in traveling, dining, shopping, and giving generously to charitable causes. Known for her personable nature, fun-loving spirit, and kind-hearted yet stern demeanor, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Linda Shuler; cousins Tyrance K. Myers Sr., Ashley Dawson, Tyrance K. Myers Jr., Tommy Myers, Valerye Hall (Donald), Donald Hall Jr., Derick Hall, Michele Hall, and Denia Hall; nieces Jacquelyn Renee, Kimberly Lynette, Melissa (Fabian), Shatoya, and Shaterra; goddaughter Kelia Wilkins-Gay (Carlos); special daughters, Shelbonnie Hall (Dr. Timothy Hall Sr.), Sarah Black (Anthony), and LeJune Legon; godsons Jermari Wright, Cervantes Palmer, Vincent Parkey, and Howard Conoly III; special friends Marjorie Williams, Willie McDuffie and Jean Adams (Larry); as well as a host of friends and loving caregivers. She was predeceased by her parents William Thomas Shuler Sr. and Ora V. Johnson Shuler; brother William Thomas Shuler Jr.; and aunt Jeanette Myers. Jacquelyn’s legacy of love and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
