Jamie Kay Brewer was born on September 6, 1953, in Brinkley, Arkansas, to Erma Lee Brewer and Ned Brewer.
She graduated from Brinkley High School in 1971 and continued her education at Garland County Community College. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she furthered her studies at MSTA Business College.
Jamie eventually made her home in Ocala, Florida, where she devoted 20 years of service as a physical therapy assistant. She later continued her career as an office manager, faithfully serving in that role for another 20 years.
Jamie was a faithful and praying woman. Her relationship with God was the foundation of her life. She believed in the power of prayer and carried that faith with her through every season. Whether in times of joy or moments of hardship, she remained steadfast, trusting God’s guidance and extending that same strength to those around her. She prayed not only for herself but for her family, her friends, and anyone in need, often lifting others up before they even asked. Her faith was quiet yet powerful, reflected in the way she lived, loved, and cared for others each day. Jamie was a woman of deep love and unwavering devotion to her family. Nothing in this world meant more to her than the people she cherished. She found joy in music, going dancing, nature walks, long car rides with her beloved husband, spending peaceful days at the beach and by the lake, and spending quality time with family and friends. She had a special fondness for beautiful, sparkling things, and if it shined, it surely caught her eye. Jamie had a generous and giving spirit. With her, no one ever felt alone, hungry, or without a place to belong. She had a remarkable way of lifting others up and filling their hearts with comfort, warmth, and love. Her presence could brighten any room, and her radiant smile left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Jamie’s life was a reflection of kindness, strength, and grace. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Jamie was preceded in eternal rest by her mother, Erma Lee Brewer; her father, Ned Brewer; her sisters, Margaret Swanigan and Bernice Miller; and her granddaughter, Ay’Tiana White. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Leon Brown; her children, Demarco Brewer, Lashunia Collins (Steven), Anginette Brewer (Keith), and Lakandala Brewer (Michael); her brother, JC Brewer; and her sisters, Paulette Brewer (Larry) and Valarie Brewer (Stanley). She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Steven Collins Jr. (Alexandria), Vonkei Brewer (Aaliyhua), Tyriek Jones, Antonio Crim Jr., Jermaine White Jr., Arnishia Bennett (Christopher), Quentoya Brewer, and Erma Crockton; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
