Brother Jessie Lee Hayes was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Jessie was born to the late Margaret McCoy Hayes and Henry James Hayes on September 18, 1954, in Leesburg, FL. Jessie attended Marion County public schools and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at Townley Manufacturing until his health would no longer allow him to. Jessie was a member of Clearwater Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Howard Gunn. He leaves to mourn in his passing: his devoted wife, Vernetta Hayes of Ocala, FL; four sons, Jessie (Chinita) Hayes, Jr., of Calhoun, GA, Devin (Sara) Hayes of Calhoun GA, Phillip (Tracy) Taylor of Newnan, GA, and Jerado Taylor of McDonough, GA; three daughters, Keisha Hayes of Boston, MA, Vernessa Brewton, and Vickie Brewton of Ocala, FL; sisters, Helen (Lindell) Welcome of Ocklawaha, FL, and Linda Holland of Warner Robins, GA; twenty-one grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; loving and devoted granddaughter, Darriell Jest; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
