Jessie Rhem, Jr., was one of fourteen children born on January 2, 1943, in Conner, Florida, to the late Jessie Rhem, Sr., and Daisy Burgman Rhem. Jessie aka “Chappy” moved to Silver Springs, Florida, at an early age and lived the balance of his life there. Jessie’s loving siblings are Catherine, Julia, Henry, Bob, Frank, Emma, Deloris, and Cynthia.
He was preceded in death by: Thelma, Jack, Ladressta, Melvin, and Willie Dennis. He is also surrvived by a dear aunt, Flora Berrien, and a special lifelong friend and bonus brother, Reginald Faison, Sr., aka Reggie.
Jessie lived a life marked by unwavering devotion, integrity, and a servant’s heart.
Jessie was united in marriage to his wife, Jo Eller Gaitor Rhem, who remained by his side faithfully through sickness and in health.
Jessie was the proud father of six children. He had three devoted daughters from his first marriage to Wilhelmenia Herring Rhem: Shannon Rhem, Terri Robinson (Rodric), and Sonya Vernon (William).
With his union to Jo Eller, he was blessed with three loving children: Tyrone Rhem (Laronna), Kimberly Culpepper (Daunte), and Courtney Rhem. This blended family cherished and adored him.
Jessie was a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren: RJ, Hope, Jasmine, Candace, Brianna, Carl, Jasean, Lyric, Jordan, Christopher, Chayse, Jahiydi, Huston, Macai, Khiami, Quest, Dash, and Jahmier.
Jessie was preceded in death by one precious granddaughter, Aysia.
Jessie also cherished his five great-grandchildren: Tyree, Jalen, Sonali, Echo, and Gala. He also leaves a host of “Golden Children”who were greatly blessed to have him as a part of their lives.
Jessie made his mark as a gifted entrepreneur throughout Marion County and Central Florida, building custom swimming pools for many years. His impeccable craftsmanship was greatly admired by his clients. His work ethic, honesty, and integrity was second to none.
Jessie loved his family, his friends, the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, football, basketball, softball, baseball, and bowling. He never smoked or drank alcohol and was known for his quiet and dignified demeanor. He kept his word and if you were in need of shelter, food, or minor car repairs, Jessie was the guy you could call on.
