John Charles Molé (“Papa John”)

June 27, 1954 – October 15, 2022 (age 68)

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York

Wife: Cynthia Veronica Marcello (Married 2006)

Recently moved with his wife to Ocala, Florida from Hurley, New York to enjoy retired life in the sunshine. He leaves to cherish his precious memories:

Twin Daughters: Katherine Sanchez (husband Emilio Sanchez) and Kristina Dawood (husband Sameer Dawood)

Grandkids: Damion, Lucas, Gianna (Katherine Sanchez); Aaliyah (Krissy Dawood)

Sibling: Victor Molé Jr. of Smithtown, NY

He was predeceased by his parents Victor Molé Sr. and Mary Molé (Carbone) of Ozone Park, NY, and brother, Peter Molé.

John died peacefully in his sleep after a short illness and recent surgery.
 He attended Kingsborough Community College. John worked at Music Sales Corporation, Alto Music, and the Daily News. He retired in 2012.
John was officially recognized and inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame as a Great Blues Artist from New York in 2011. He was a former Drummer for the Billy Perry Blues Band, and played with Otis Rush, B.B. King, Richie Havens, “Little Sammy” Davis, Slam Allen, Sam Morrison, and more. An accomplished blues and jazz drummer and studio musician who was known for his shuffle and hard-hitting style. His passion for music appreciation and his unique musical expression were known to people all over the world. He played for several years at the annual Liberty Jazz Festival with the Inner Urge Jazz Quartet. He thoroughly loved gospel music and was uplifted by the message and being in the spirit. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell the stories of “back in the day” to make people laugh. John would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and had so many loyal friends which he considered himself blessed to have in his life.
He loved animals, birds, and especially his pets.
