Linda McCullough, a woman whose life radiated warmth, faith, and boundless love, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2026. Her gentle spirit, a comforting presence to so many, has now reunited with our Lord, welcomed at Heaven's gate by her beloved parents, Mr. Roosevelt (Gooley) and Mrs. Lillie Mae McCullough, and her dear sister, Sharon McCullough.
Born on August 1, 1956 in the river side community of Palatka, Florida, Linda was the cherished firstborn of eight children. From her earliest days, she was a source of unwavering affection, absorbing the love and values that would shape her remarkable life. Her formative years were spent in Putnam County, Florida, where she received her education, laying the groundwork for a future dedicated to caring for others.
Linda's journey led her to Marion County, where she maintained a home and raised her family, pouring her heart into both her loved ones and her career. Her innate compassion found its truest expression in her professional life, where she excelled in child and special needs care. Her gentle touch, boundless patience, and profound understanding offered comfort and dignity to those in her charge, leaving a lasting impression on countless lives.
Her personal passions painted a vivid portrait of her unique spirit. Linda found joy in the simple, beautiful things: the delicate flutter of butterflies, the vibrant hue of fuchsia lipstick, and the soulful melodies of Gospel music, occasionally accented by the smooth R&B of Keith Sweat. She delighted in the simple luxury of manicures, the fellowship of singing in her church choir, and the spiritual nourishment of attending her home church. Affectionately described as “Ms. Hollywood” among her peers and the “sweetest one" among the women in her family, Linda's nurturing essence touched every relationship, making her a truly adored mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin.
Linda's life was anchored by a profound and unwavering Christian faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. This faith was not merely a belief but a living, breathing force that guided her every step, shining brightest during her times of illness. She embodied a truly noble character, radiating kindness and an unconditional love that will forever echo in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy is a testament to a life lived with grace, strength, and an enduring spirit of kindness.
Her memory will be eternally cherished and celebrated by her loving daughter, Ronita McCullough (Travis Hansberry); her devoted son, Robert (Man) Jones; her grandchildren, Antonio, Jacques, TyNei'sha, Traron, Robert DeMari, Unique, Makai, Tj, Kamari, and Akauya; 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Susan Washington, Teresa Huffman, Teri (Andre) Simpson, and Alisa Hurtado; her brothers, John (Anita) McCullough and Calvin McCullough; a special friend Michael Boone and her goddaughter Iliana; and a wide circle of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31-30
