Mene Tanelus, born on March 10, 1940, in Latortue Rosolier, Haiti, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 9, 2024. He was the beloved son of Dieudone Fabre and Tanelus Louis Stinphil and the eighth of eleven children, growing up with 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mene married the love of his life, Marie Cadet, and together they built a strong and loving family. They were blessed with six children:
- Lucienne Tanelus
- Rosemene Tanelus
- Ernest Tanelus
- Micheline Tanelus
- Nerlande Tanelus
- Evelyne Tanelus
He also welcomed and loved his stepchildren:
- Samson Charles
- Nanette Jean Francois
In 1981, Mene made the courageous decision to leave his homeland of Haiti to pursue a better life in the United States, driven by his desire to provide more opportunities for his family. His kindness, generosity, and strong sense of responsibility were hallmarks of his character.

Darline, Jules Andre, Merline, Youselande, Romano, Marc, Douby, Prevnel, Islene, John, Rubens, Sabrina, Loucie Chouby, Carl, Welby, Dieugo, Laura, Ammy, Ernisha, Ermidley, Heldy, Browndly, Djyfferson, Nead, Neysha, Derry, Laurie, Eddy, Rose Merline, Jules, Bendjy, Roselaure, Rosemarie, Rosenicka, Ronaldo, and Rivaldo.
He was also a cherished great-grandfather to 25 great-grandchildren.

Mene was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews, including Anide, Jean Elly Leveque, Rodnel, Camine, Ludy, Shella, Achenel, Ceriles, Linee, Charite, Nodilia, Emmani, Magre, Judith Justance, Medillia Louis Jeune,Loriston, Fanet, Danie, Veyona Monpremise, Roselene, Dominique, Kella, Voltere, and Aloude.
Mene was a man of his word, known for his integrity, kindness, and generosity. He was passionate about cooking and loved preparing meals for his family. In his leisure, he enjoyed watching his favorite show, WWE, which brought him much joy.
Mene will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. May he rest in eternal peace.
