PEGGY LOUISE GLADYNESS (WILLIS), age 83, was born on May 30, 1942, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to the late Dewitt Ruben Willis and Dorothy Lena (Hazelood) Willis. She peacefully entered eternal rest on January 5, 2026, at Grace Davis Hospice House in Ocala, Florida. Peggy attended Ypsilanti High School until November 10, 1960. She later united in holy matrimony with Freddie Gladyness, who preceded her in death. From this union and through her loving heart, she was blessed to raise a beautiful family. She was the proud mother of Regina Dykes (Gladyness), Eric Dykes of Kansas City, Freddie Gladyness Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, O.B. Gladyness of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pauline Metcalf (Gladyness) of Ocala, Florida, and David Gladyness of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also lovingly embraced her stepdaughter, Patricia McCarthy of Charlotte, North Carolina. At a young age, Peggy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. On November 1, 1998, at the age of 56, she joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Romulus, Michigan, where she was filled with the Holy Spirit on the very day she became a member. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. Peggy was actively involved in her community. She was a proud member of the Red Hatters Society and enjoyed spending time at the Romulus Senior Center, where she formed many cherished friendships and participated in outings and trips that brought her great joy. Known for her warm spirit and kind heart, Peggy never met a stranger—everyone she encountered became a friend. She was a devoted and trustworthy mother, a patient listener, and a constant source of love and encouragement to her children and grandchildren. Her nurturing presence and gentle wisdom will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her. Peggy was also blessed with a loving family of siblings: Donald Willis, Arthur Willis, Sydnee Willis, Ruby Willis Hamilton, Cathy Willis Borden, Dewitt Willis, and David Willis. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and friendship. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
