Reverend Benjamin Snowden Jr. was born to the late Dec. Benjamin Sr. and Lessie Snowden in Ocala, FL on January 7, 1952. He received his education in the Marion County Public Schools. Benjamin completed 4 years of study at the United Theological Seminary. At an early age, Rev. Benjamin Snowden, Jr. was baptized at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Blunt. He was ordained as Reverend at New Zion MBC. He pastored at Mount Sinai MBC of Leesburg, Florida for 16 years. Later retired and joined Greater Hopewell MBC. Benjamin was truly "a jack of all trades". He could do or fix just about anything. He enjoyed hard work, being outdoors, just plain "tinkering" around. Benjamin was a good man, with a big heart, quick to lend a helping hand. Most of all, he loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his Father: Deacon Benjamin Snowden Sr., Mother: Lessie Snowden, Brother: Robert Lee Snowden; Daughter: Sabrina Snowden; Sister: Linda Mae Mobley, Grandfather: Rev. Moses Snowden, Grandmother: Clinnie Snowden, Brother-in-laws: Walter Christopher and Randolph Mobley Sr. and Nephew: Orville Presley Jr.
He leaves to cherish precious memories: a loving and devoted wife, Emma Snowden, Ocala, FL; sons: Minister Benjamin Snowden III (Tasha) and Kenneth Williams, both of Ocala, FL and Cory Williams; Daughters: Tanya Wims, Jacksonville, FL, Faith Lashun Snowden, Faith Lavon Snowden, Lyndisha Oliver, and LaKeisha Smith, all of Ocala, FL; Grandchildren: Bre'Shayla Brooks, Khalid Snowden, Ta'Bria Snowden, Benjamin Snowden IV, Tajah Wims, Jasmin Wims, Cory Wims, Beauregard Beard III, Kamden Beard, Major Beard, Ava Beard, King Snowden, Genesis Snowden, Angel Jenkins, Asia Schmidt (Gianluca), Kenan Williams, Karter Williams, Keon Williams and Cheyenne Williams (Kayla); Sisters: Voncea Christopher, Deborah Walcott (Donovan), Albria Hamilton and Theresa Presley, all of Ocala, FL; Brothers: James Snowden (Ollie) of Heinsville, GA, Nathaniel Snowden (Sabrina), Elton Snowden (Revodiya) of Ocala, FL; a dedicated Niece and Caregiver: Loretta Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
