Robert E. Parris, Sr., was born on June 12, 1943, to the late William and Doretha Parris. He was one of 17 children born to this union. He was married to Sharon Parris who preceded him in death. From this union, three children were born; two daughters, Odessa Scott (Weirsdale, FL) and Treva (preceded him in death), and one son, Robert Parris, Jr. Robert was a cherished member of the Marion County community and held the name of “Mayor” of Weirsdale. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Odessa Scott (Weirsdale, FL); son, Robert (Kelbresha) Parris, Jr., (Riverview, FL); three grandsons, Solomon, Noah, and Joseph; two brothers, James Parris (Leesburg, FL) and Gilbert (Ira) Parris (Monticello, FL); three sisters, Jacqueline Byrd (Leesburg, FL), Sherel Parris (Leesburg, FL), and Viola Hart (Bushnell, FL); two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Garner (Weirsdale, FL) and Doretha Parris (Ocala, FL); a devoted friend, Alvin (Mary) Terry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives sorrowing friends.
