Roderick L. Washington, Jr., also known as “Mook”, was born to the parents Shari Sesler-Thomas and Roderick L. Washington, Sr. He was raised in Ocala, Florida, and educated through Marion County public schools, and was a graduate of West Port High School. Roderick loved spending time with his family, and a small circle of friends, playing basketball and having fun water sporting. On October 31, 2023, our beloved Roderick “Mook” departed this earthly life for his new home. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Claudeen Kinsler; maternal grandfather, William Sesler; paternal grandmother, Cecil Mae Washington; paternal grandfather, Leroy Davis; cousin, Maxie L. Graham, Jr.; uncle, Joel Searight; and brother, Antonio L. Gordon, Jr. “Poke Chop”. He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Shari Selser-Thomas (Willard) and Roderick L. Washington, Sr. (Becky); godparents, Sharette and Winston Gunn; grandmother, Geneva Thomas; his heart, his twin, Callie Washington, and his two lil buddies, Jayce Epps and Jai’On Douglas (Wham Wham); sisters, Cherrelle Washington, Shayla Jackson, Jasmine Jackson, Lourdes Washington, Willardra Thomas, D’Andrea Thomas, Chaszmine Thomas, Deja Bouey, and ShaKeriyah Leakes; brothers, MiKel Sesler, Xavione Gordon, Sr., WilKari Thomas, Willard Thomas, Jr., Devin Epps, Marrio Chandler, Christopher Taylor, Jaquez Walls, Nathan Jackson, Sr., and two godbrothers, Stacey and Winston “Paul” Gunn; special friend, Ja’Breia Campbell; uncles, Johnny Graham, Jr., Maxie Graham, Sr. (Laura), Timothy Graham, Sr. (Sybil), Patrick Graham, Sr. (Adrianne), Tyrone Woods, Reginald Sesler, Corrin Sesler, Alphonso Thomas, Jr. (Eliza), Herman Thomas (Lisa), and Rodney Thomas (Angel); aunts, Wonda Godreau (Edgardo), Shonria Searight, Malonda Jackson (Charles), Rachel Woods, Nichelle Monroe (Toby), Andria Houston (Thomas), Debra Thomas, and Latoya Calloway (Albert); and a host of other aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
