Rufus W. Brewton was born on 11/26/1926 in Ocala, FL to the late Rufus and Sarah Brewton. Raised in a loving Christian home, he accepted Christ at an early age and united with Watula Missionary Baptist Church. He was a working father, a loving husband, and a man who loved the Lord. A faithful giver to the church and his family, he demonstrated his faith not only in words but in action. For over 30 years, he worked as a truck driver, providing for his household and setting an example of dedication and perseverance for his children and family.
He attended public schools in Marion County and was known for his exceptional work ethic and caring heart. He married Estella Wise on March 11, 1951, and together they raised a large, loving family. Their home was filled with faith, laughter, and open arms for anyone in need.
