Trent La Vaughn Mount was born on January 12, 1964, in Ocala, Florida, to the late Samuel Woodberry and the late Ester M. Mount. He was raised in Ocala and received his formal education through the Marion County Public School System, graduating with pride from Forest High School, Class of 1982.
At an early age, Trent accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. In his adult years, he was united in holy matrimony to Althea Mount. Together, they joined New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where they actively participated in the Couples Ministry and built strong bonds within their church family.
Trent devoted many years to the transportation industry, where he was known for his dependability, warm spirit, and strong work ethic. Even after becoming disabled, Trent continued to face life with courage, humor, and an unshakable faith in God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Woodberry Sr. and Ester M. Mount; his sister, Marilyn Mount Fluker; and his brother, Charles Mount Jr.
Trent leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Althea Mount; his beloved son, Trent Mount II; and his cherished granddaughter, Kehlani Mount. Through marriage, he also gained three sons and a daughter: Robert Harris, Dwantrell Goodson, Jamel Goodson (Linda), and Bri’anna Goodson.
He is also survived by his siblings: Mae Lois Nelson (Jimmie), Sherry Woodberry Nembhard, Samuel Woodberry Jr., and Wessley Woodberry (Karen); along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, close friends, and his beloved church family.
Trent will forever be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering faith, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His life was a living testimony of devotion—to God, to family, and to all whose lives he touched.
“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:8
