Velteena Thomas-Mannery Obituary

Velteena Antoinette Thomas-Mannery (Pumpkin) was born on November 10, 1971, to her father Fred W. Thomas, Jr. and mother Velteena Roberson-Stanley in Ocala , Florida. Velteena was affectionately known by many as Pumpkin/ Teena. A name given to her by her beloved grandmother, Lessie Mae Washington Roberson, who they affectionately called Hambone. After Teena received her high school diploma she furthered her journey by moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she established a career in the medical field. As someone who sought to further her skills, she also worked amongst crime scene investigators as a phlebotomist. Those are just a few of her many accomplishments. Throughout life, Velteena was widely known to have a genuine loving and charitable spirit to all those she encountered. A real go getter, people person and avid animal lover. She always kept a spiritual relationship with the Most High God in life as well. While battling breast cancer, she was strong, full of life and would never let her battle keep her down. She didn’t just love on those who loved her, she loved on everyone. Pumpkin is the true meaning of the embodiment of The Holy Spirit, she left a light wherever she went. On Thursday January 11, 2024, Velteena departed her physical body at 52 years old surrounded by her family. She went to reside in The Kingdom with the Lord after her long battle with cancer, but leaves behind a legacy that will endure forever. She was blessed to give life to three daughters and one son : Tremeka Haugabrook, Asha Henderson, Ayahna Israel and Duwayne (Christina) Henderson. Who then brought forth her five grandchildren: Paige Haugabrook, Omari Henderson, Amiaz Israel, Noaz Israel, and Hazon Israel who she loved dearly. Velteena was proceeded in death by James Roberson, Lessie Mae Washington Roberson and Marcia Mason. Left to celebrate her life are her husband - Jerry Mannery , her Dad- Fred Thomas (Florida); Her Mom - Velteena Roberson-Stanley(Lewis); great-aunt, Reverend Dr. Caretha Brown; children through birth and marriage: Tremeka Haugabrook, Asha Henderson (Dorian), Duwayne Henderson (Christina), Ayahna (Simeon), Jervon Mannery and Ariah Mannery; grands, Paige, Omari, Amiaz, Noaz, and Hazon; sisters and brothers: Faith Crumedy (Dejuan), Freda Dubrey (Ben), Katrina Thomas (JeRodney), Ramona Cole (Greg), Fred Thomas III, Charles Thomas, Beau Thomas; Wayne Henderson and Robert Curtis whom she shared her beautiful children with; her aunts and uncle whom she love dearly, Caretha Brown (James), Chandra Rhem, Olivia Roberson-Leach (Dorian) and Cheryl Lonon; and uncle, Edward Earl Mason; cousins she loved as siblings, Stevie Willis, Jr. (Sharnette), Olivia Latrice Mason, Shindeka Kinsler, Dereck Thomas; brother in love Tim Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and anyone blessed enough to have came in contact with her.
