Veronica Denise Greene Smith

Veronica Denise Greene Smith, 67,  was born on Monday June 14, 1954 to Beatrice Greene and Earnest Chappel .

Veronica attended Marion County Public Schools where she graduated from Vanguard High School Class of 1972. She was employed by Martin Marietta and Quality Banner until she retired. Veronica formed a courtship in high school where she and Ire Bethea Sr. had a bouncing baby girl Tanya Teresa Bethea. Tanya was her pride and joy. Veronica then met and married the love of her life The Late Douglas Smith Sr. They blended their families together as one. After Tanya’s untimely demise, Veronica took great pride in helping to raise her grandchildren J’Andrian and Jhi’Kerria until her health began to fail. Veronica accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Welcome Stranger Missionary Baptist Church where she served on many committees. She most enjoyed being a Deaconess. Most of all Veronica loved her family and she definitely loved The Lord. On September 4,2021, Veronica answered her call to rest in the arms of the Lord. She fought a good fight. She has finished the course. She has kept the faith. 

Preceded in Death Her husband; Douglas Smith Sr; Daughter Tanya Bethea; two sons, Douglas Smith Jr; Dwayane Smith and; brother Reginald Greene.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her children Robert Smith, Linda Mells and Doreen Williams (Tristan) Grand Children J’Andrian Smith,  Jhi’Kerria Hill,  Douglas (Jazz) Smith, Tyesha Smith, Lakecia Douglas, Ebony Henderson (Leviticus) and Sarah Brockington (Monte) Sisters; Nona Pagson, Martha Crenshaw, Brother Andre Greene ( Londie); Sister in Laws; Maxine Gaynes, Dottie Barrow. Brother in law; Freddy Smith; Uncle James Greene Jr. (Sarah); Aunts Joyce Kerece, and Julia Maynor. God children Felix M. Snow, Rev. James Pullings. Devoted friends Josephine McNeal, Helen Turner. A Host of  Great grands, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and sorrowing friends.
